Our Signature Tea: Mengding Ganlu
We specialise in Mengding Ganlu Green Tea (蒙顶甘露), one of China’s top ten famous
green teas. Literally meaning “Sweet Dew of Mengding”, this premium early‑spring
green tea is made from the youngest, downy buds grown on the historic slopes of
Mengding Mountain in Ya’an, Sichuan. Crafted using the traditional “three pan‑fry, three hand‑roll”
technique, it is celebrated for its delicate curled leaves, fresh orchid‑like aroma, smooth and
naturally sweet taste, and a clean, refreshing finish that lingers gently.
A Tea with Over 2,000 Years of History
Mengding Ganlu is a true historical tea. According to ancient records, tea cultivation on
Mengding Mountain began in the late Western Han dynasty, when the hermit Wu Lizhen
planted seven sacred tea bushes on the peak of Shangqing. These plants were revered as
“immortal tea,” and Wu Lizhen was later honoured in the Song dynasty as
Master Ganlu Puhui Miaojì for his contribution to tea culture.
Revival and Modern Excellence
In 1959, Mengding Ganlu was recognised as a National Famous Tea, and it has
since earned numerous provincial and national awards. Today, it is celebrated for its refined
craftsmanship, elegant appearance, and deep cultural heritage — a tea that continues to
represent the finest of Sichuan’s tea tradition.
